Real Madrid star Gareth Bale told 'keep your mouth shut' amid Tottenham transfer speculation

Things are less than rosy in Madrid for Gareth Bale.

The former Tottenham Hotspur star is an outcast under Zinedine Zidane at the Spanish giants despite having two years left on his mega-money deal.

The relationship between the pair deteriorated further when Bale 'asked not to play' against Manchester City in the Champions League, according to his manager.

The Welshman is yet to address the media since the incident, with speculation still swirling about his future and a potential return to Tottenham.

The ultimate lowdown on Zeki Celik

Whilst Bale is a man on the outskirts at Real, he remains Wales' main man and is expected to be put up for interview when he heads on international duty.

It's reported that the hierarchy at Madrid are concerned about a PR nightmare, after the infamous 'Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order.' banner which Bale held aloft when Wales qualified for EURO 2020.

The Spanish media never miss an opportunity to stick the boot in either, and reputable outlet AS have done just that through Columnist Jesus Gallego.

"Respect and decorum have been demanded of him in his behaviour and statements," he wrote.

"It is bad that he gave up being an important player in Madrid, but if he continued to disrespect the club it would be outrageous.

"So keep your mouth shut and keep your form, no one can pay you what you take here."

Bale has only played 100 minutes of La Liga football since the middle of February but the issue remains finding a club willing to match or even compete with his colossal wages.

A move to China broke down last year, with Bale in no rush to move his family away from Spain, although speculation about a return to Spurs has intensified.
