Real Madrid squad revealed for Man City Champions League fixture

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has named Gareth Bale in his squad to face Manchester City in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The former Tottenham winger was absent from the side that were defeated by Levante on the weekend due to illness but has recovered in time to face the Blues.

He could take the place of ex-Chelsea star Eden Hazard who was ruled out of the clash after suffering a fractured ankle in the same game. The Belgian is a doubt for the second leg at the Etihad Stadium due to the severity of his issue.

James Rodriguez misses out on the squad despite training with his teammates on Tuesday. The Colombian playmaker has played just 91 minutes in the Champions League this season.

Marco Asensio is on the comeback from injury but also misses out.

The only other notable absentee is Brazilian wonderkid Rodrygo. After being sent off for Real Madrid's Castilla side, he is absent from the squad. It is unknown whether his sending off affected Zidane's decision. He is Madrid's second top scorer in the competition this year.
