Real Madrid want to complete the signing of Paul Pogba from Manchester United by July 1, according to reports.
The United midfielder said last weekend that he was ready for 'a new challenge' to fuel further speculation over his future at Old Trafford.
It came after Pogba said in March that it would be 'a dream' to play under then-returning Real boss Zinedine Zidane, who is known to have a long-standing interest in signing the player.
The 13-times European Cup winners have already spent over £200 million this summer in signing Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo, and it is thought that Pogba is Zidane's primary target for the remainder of the summer transfer window.
And Spanish outlet Marca claim that Real want France international Pogba on their books in time for their pre-season tour of north America, which Zidane is said to consider as vital in the club's preparations for challenging Barcelona for the title next season.
United do not want to part with their record signing this summer, however, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to centre his first-team rebuild around the 26-year-old World Cup winner.
Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo claim that United would consider moves for Barcelona stars Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic should they lose Pogba this summer.
It is claimed that United will soon step up their pursuit of Rakitic, the Croatia international with whom United have been previously linked, with Barcelona reportedly ready to part ways with the 31-year-old after signing Frenkie de Jong from Ajax.
