Real Madrid send striker Borja Mayoral on loan to Roma in two-season deal

Real Madrid striker Borja Mayoral has joined Roma on loan for the next two seasons.

The 23-year-old has made two substitute appearances for Los Blancos in their first three matches in 2020-21, but will spend the rest of this term and also the following campaign at the Stadio Olimpico.

"Real Madrid C. F. and AS Roma have agreed to the loan deal of Borja Mayoral for the next two seasons, until 30 June 2022.," the Spanish side said on their website on Friday.

Mayoral has previously spent a season on loan at Wolfsburg in 2016-17 and the past two at Levante, Real's rivals in LaLiga this weekend.

An Under-21 international with Spain, the striker has made a total of 37 appearances for Madrid so far, scoring seven goals.

Coach Zinedine Zidane is also hoping another striker, Mariano Diaz, will leave the club before the transfer window closes on Octobr 5, but Luka Jovic is expected to stay after starting Madrid's last two games.
