Zinedine Zidane has insisted Real Madrid have no interest in selling defender Raphael Varane despite reports linking him with a move to Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not ruled out signing a centre back in the summer transfer window and the France international is one of a number of high profile players who have been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Varane's brother, and agent, Anthony has said the World Cup winner is looking for a new challenge prompting speculation he could leave the Bernabeu, however, Zidane has spoken effusively about the centre back twice in the past four days and insists the 25-year-old will not be going anywhere.
"I do not want a Real Madrid without Varane," Zidane said at a press conference on . "He is a young player who has been here for eight years.
"He has not told me anything, if he is annoyed then these are things that happen in a player's life. I am speaking to the club, I have told the club what we want to do [with transfers].
"We are already doing that. At the end of the season things will be made public. There will be changes next season but now is not the time for that. Respect the players that are here right now.”
The Real Madrid manager, who returned to the club last month, also confirmed Varane had not asked to leave.
"I obviously want Varane to stay and more importantly, he hasn't informed me that he wants to leave," he said.
"Varane is at the best club in the world and he knows it."
