Real Madrid's transfer decision which could be fantastic news for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta

Of all the clubs reportedly interested in Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, there's one in particular that he couldn't turn down.

The Gabon international has been nothing short of brilliant since joining from Borussia Dortmund for £56m in January 2018, but is reportedly attracting interest from Real Madrid, Manchester United, Barcelona and Inter Milan.

Having dropped a hint about signing a new deal during an Instagram conversation with ex-Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng on Saturday night, some Gunners supporters are resigned to the fact that Aubameyang will be sold this summer.

Arsenal: The season so far

But where will the 30-year-old go?

If the decision was left to Aubameyang then a move to Real Madrid would be on the cards.

Four years ago when discussing the passing away of his grandfather, the striker named the club he dreams of playing for - and it's the 13-time champions of Europe.

"Before he died two years ago I promised him that one day I would play for Real Madrid," he told L'Equipe back in 2016, as per AS.

"My grandfather was from Avila, not far from Madrid. It’s what I said to him. I know it’s not easy but it’s something I keep in mind.

"I celebrate my goals with a cartwheel in honour of Hugo Sanchez. I've seen many videos of him on the internet and I’ve been following him since I was a boy."

And it would appear that Real Madrid have made a transfer decision which would affect Arsenal as Zinedine Zidane has reportedly informed Aubameyang that he is keen to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

That's according to the Express.

However, the report also states that Aubameyang is Zidane's Plan B behind Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Erling Haaland and Liverpool star Sadio Mane.

This transfer decision would be fantastic news for Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta who has already stated his intentions to keep Aubameyang at all costs.

"For me, it is very easy," said Arteta last month. "I want to keep him under any circumstances.

"We will see the intentions that we have and his intentions. Where we are sitting in the table at that moment. I think it is difficult to predict that context right now."
