Real Madrid's Toni Kroos sends two-word message to Liverpool after Champions League draw

Real Madrid's Toni Kroos has sent a two-word message to Liverpool after the teams were drawn together in the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League.

The Reds will go to Spain for the first leg on April 6th – but won’t play at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu stadium – before playing the second leg at Anfield on April 14th.

Kroos has played in three Champions League finals with Real Madrid and was victorious in each of them, culminating in the 3-1 triumph over Liverpool in 2018.

In response to the last eight pairing, the 31-year-old who has been on Twitter for almost a decade and whose previous Tweet was to reply to a “Toni Kroos or Luka Modric” question from the Champions League’s official account on Tuesday with the word “AND”, declared: “Nice one” to his 8.8million followers.

Kroos joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in 2014 after being part of the side that won the 2014 World Cup final against Argentina at the Maracana.

Other than the aforementioned final in Kiev three years ago, the midfielder has faced Liverpool on two other separate occasions in the 2014/15 group stage when he helped Real Madrid to a 3-0 victory at Anfield and then 1-0 success at the Bernabeu.
