Sergio Ramos could return for Real Madrid against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday night if he receives a painkilling injection.
The centre-half has been out for two weeks since re-injuring his left shoulder against Atlético Madrid on 4 October and he was left out of Spain’s squad for the European Championship qualifiers against Luxembourg and Ukraine. However, the Real Madrid captain has trained this week and is now back in contention to play in Paris.
Rafa Benítez is also hoping for Luka Modric and Karim Benzema to return against PSG. Both players missed the weekend victory over Levante, Modric with a muscular strain and Benzema a leg injury, but they remain hopeful of recovering in time.
Real Madrid have more pressing worries over Danilo and Pepe, while James Rodríguez and Dani Carvajal are out with long-term injuries. PSG will be missing David Luiz while they rested Ángel Di María and left Thiago Motta on the bench this weekend in their 2-0 win over Bastia in order to keep them fit for Wednesday.
