Real Madrid's message to James Rodriguez after Everton transfer confirmed

Real Madrid have released a brief statement wishing James Rodriguez well following his transfer to Everton.

The playmaker has signed a two-year deal at Goodison Park, with the Blues having an option of a third, bringing his spell with the La Liga giants to an end after six years.

The Colombia international is set to link up with Carlo Ancelotti for a third time, with the Italian having brought him to Madrid in 2014 and signed him for Bayern Munich in 2017.

And the Spanish side have released a short statement thanking Rodriguez and wishing him well for the future now that his move has been confirmed.

It read: "Real Madrid C. F. and Everton FC have reached an agreement over the transfer of James Rodríguez.

"Real Madrid wants to express its thanks and affection towards the player for all of the years he has been part of our club and wishes him all the best in this new chapter of his career."

Rodriguez leaves the La Liga giants with one year left on his contract with the club and having scored 37 goals in 125 appearances in all competitions.
