Real Madrid return to training ahead of planned LaLiga restart

Real Madrid returned to training at their Valdebebas base on Monday as LaLiga look to restart the 2019-20 season next month.

Los Blancos were put through their paces for the first time at club facilities since suspending activities, due to Covid-19, on March 12. They underwent coronavirus testing last week.

"The players checked in at Real Madrid City for a workout led by Zinedine Zidane that got underway at 10:00, which followed the strict health regulations contained in the protocol issued by LaLiga on account of the COVID-19 pandemic," Madrid said on their official website.

"Divided into two different time slots and across various pitches at Real Madrid City, the players carried out individual exercises with and without the ball."

Strikers Luka Jovic (foot fracture) and Mariano Diaz (right foot discomfort) both worked indoors, while head coach Zidane work a face mask and gloves.

Madrid are currently two points behind Barcelona at the top of LaLiga, with 11 rounds of the competition left.

Los Blancos will play their remaining home games at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano (located at their training ground) as renovation works continue at the Santiago Bernabeu.
