Real Madrid have dismissed speculation that they are 'studying' the possibility of joining the Premier League.
The Spanish club are currently at the centre of on an ongoing feud with La Liga bosses as they look to sell a 10 per cent share of the league to equity firm CVC Capital Partners.
The proposed deal would hand La Liga clubs a cash boost, which is more than welcome due to the coronavirus pandemic and the impact that has had on finances throughout the world of football, but Madrid and Barcelona have strongly rejected the plans.
A report from Mundo Deportivo this morning suggested Real Madrid were considering leaving the Spanish top flight.
The report from Spain also claims that Madrid president Florentino Perez's 'favourite competition' is the Premier League, and they are 'studying' the possibility of moving to the English top flight, as well as the Serie A and Bundesliga.
However, this report has been strongly denied by Real Madrid - who released an angrily worded statement.
It read: "Given the information published today by the newspaper Mundo Deportivo, in which it says that our club studied the possibility of moving from LaLiga to the Premier, Real Madrid wants to assert that this information is completely false, absurd and impossible and it only intends to disturb, once more, the day to day of our club."
As well as the disagreement over the CVC deal, Perez is also thought to be annoyed after Javier Tebas voiced his opposition to the European Super League recently.
Perez was the man responsible for the controversial 'breakaway' league, that saw its plans scrapped pretty swiftly before the end of last season.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were all part of the initial plans, before widespread fan condemnation forced the proposal to be scrapped.
