Real Madrid ready to activate transfer 'Plan B' after dismal pre-season form

Real Madrid are ready to push the Bernabeu panic button and initiate their transfer Plan B.

Real have endured a catastrophic summer friendly programme, which has seen them lose to ten man Bayern Munich, draw with Arsenal and get thrashed 7-3 by rivals Atletico Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane has also failed to coax Manchester United into selling Paul Pogba yet and has been left without Marco Asensio for the rest of 2019.

Midfielder Asensio ruptured his cruciate ligament in his knee during the 2-2 draw with the Gunners, which is expected to rule him out until February, while new signings Ferland Mendy, Luka Jovic and Brahim Diaz are also doubts for the start of the season.

As such, Real have decided that they may need to jump back into the transfer market, despite already splashing around £300million already this summer.

The La Liga giants are preparing plans to make new recruits but will make the final decision next week, according to AS.

Real are keen not to spread alarm ahead of the Audi Cup in Munich, where they face Tottenham and either Bayern Munich or Fenerbahce.

Pogba is still Zidane's No.1 choice, with the French midfielder publicly announcing his desire to leave Old Trafford.

But the hierarchy in Madrid haven't been keen on paying Pogba his huge wage demand - although the dire recent form is starting to see them attempt to stump up the cash.

Real had also been hopeful Takefusa Kubo or Rodrygo Goes could fill the hole left by Asensio.

But if they fail to impress in Germany, Real will officially push for new recruits.

Real have already signed Eden Hazard for £90m, along with Jovic, Eder Militao, Mendy and Rodrygo this summer in a huge splurge.
