Real Madrid president Florentino Perez tells fan his Kylian Mbappe transfer plan

Florentino Perez has predicted Kylian Mbappe will be a Real Madrid player next season.

The Los Blancos president sanctioned a move for the World Cup winner during the most recent window, with a bid of £170million rejected by Paris Saint-Germain.

But with less than a year remaining on his current deal, he is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.

Real Madrid will be able to sign Mbappe to a pre-contract agreement from January 1, with the striker showing no signs of signing a new deal.

Reports in France claim that PSG have made four separate attempts to tie Mbappe to a new deal, but he is reluctant to commit his future to the club.

According to Spanish news outlet AS, Madrid are readying a long-term contract worth six years, with a bumper signing-on fee part of the arrangement.

And in footage obtained by Directo Gol, Perez told a fan that he expects Mbappe will be a Real Madrid player next year.

PSG sporting director Leonardo has recently suggested that Mbappe will not leave the club next year, believing he will eventually agree to a new deal at the Parc des Princes.

“The fact that he’s staying, that was the only thing that could happen. We never thought about doing all this without Kylian. We were not happy with the behaviour of Real Madrid,” Leonardo told Canal Plus.

“We were clear about the offer they made. It was not enough from our point of view. It was less than what we paid. As for their last offer, it never arrived.

“I don’t see Kylian leaving at the end of this season. Mbappe’s relationship with PSG is deep. I don’t think anyone here sees the future without him.”

Perez was speaking after his side drew a blank against Villarreal, spurning the opportunity to open a five-point gap at the top of LaLiga.

After the stalemate, manager Carlo Ancelotti said: “We've kept a clean sheet and that's a positive after our recent games.

“If you don't have your best night, it's tough to beat Villarreal. We're still at the top of LaLiga and that's the main thing.

“It wasn't our best display of the season because Villarreal kept the ball well, but back near the goalkeeper so I wasn't too concerned. I was disappointed with how we struggled to press."
