Real Madrid outline Eden Hazard demands as former Chelsea boss eyes Callum Hudson-Odoi

Welcome to our football.london CareFree Chelsea daily news round-up. Maybe not the first, we've definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all.

One of Thomas Tuchel's young stars has caught the eye of former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri as he looks to add to his Lazio squad in the January transfer window.

Eden Hazard has yet again been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge and Real Madrid have told Chelsea exactly how they can re-sign the Belgian wizard.

And finally, Newcastle are preparing to flex their financial muscle as they battle it out with Chelsea for the signing of a sought-after full-back.

Sarri wants Hudson-Odoi reunion

It looks like Chelsea's old managers have unfinished business with the club. Jose Mourinho recently declared his interest in Ruben Loftus-Cheek and now Sarri wants to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Tuttosport report (via Football Italia) that the Lazio boss is interested in bringing the 21-year-old to Italy in January.

Hudson-Odoi looks to be a big part of Tuchel's plans at Chelsea, though it remains to be seen whether the Blues manager will have his head turned by a bid from Lazio.

Our take: Hudson-Odoi is loved by a lot of Chelsea fans and I think we'd be making a huge mistake letting him leave.

We've had to fend off the likes of Bayern Munich in the past and I expect the club to take a similar stance should a bid be made next month.

Chelsea have struggled to create chances at times this season and so cutting ties with one of our most creative players would be a massive mistake.

Hazard trade for Chelsea?

It's no secret that Hazard has had his struggles at Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants are understood to be on the hunt for potential buyers with Chelsea in the running to welcome the Belgian back to Stamford Bridge, though any deal would come at a hefty price.

El Nacional claim that Real Madrid are open to sanctioning Hazard's Chelsea return as long as Reece James heads in the opposite direction.

Our take: I think this might just be the most bizarre transfer story of the year. Chelsea fans love Hazard and that will never change, but there's no chance we're going to swap him for James.

Newcastle join the race for Digne

Chelsea have been tipped to make a move for Lucas Digne in recent weeks, though they're not the only interested party. Transfer guru Alfredo Pedulla (via the Daily Express) reports that Newcastle are also keen to sign the talented Frenchman next month.

New Magpies boss Eddie Howe is expected to embark on a spending spree as he looks to ensure the Tynesiders retain their Premier League status, and Digne is said to be one of the players he's eager to sign.

Our take: Ben Chilwell is on the road to recovery and so I really don't think we need to go throwing money at a new left-back in the mid-season window.

With Marcos Alonso's contract expiring at the end of next season, reinforcements will be needed if he doesn't pen fresh terms soon. However, rushing into a January deal instead of waiting until the summer to assess all the options available to us may turn out to be a silly decision.
