Mallorca chief executive Maheta Molango has suggested that Takefusa Kubo could be a “superstar”.
Real Madrid loanee Kubo is able to face his parent club this weekend.
Nicknamed the ‘Japanese Messi’, Kubo joined Real Madrid in the summer before joining Mallorca on a season-long loan, and Molango thinks the 18-year-old, who has played in six LA Liga matches already this season, could become a footballing superstar.
“I was very, very impressed by Kubo when I met him,’” Molango told the Daily Mail.
“He’s super humble, super down to earth. It’s not easy to keep your feet on the ground when you’ve been a superstar since you were 10.
“Kubo is very focused, very professional. That’s also down to his family, they’re very humble and hard-working. His talent is obvious, but the reason why he will one day be a football superstar is his head.”
Mallorca are third from bottom after eight La Liga games.
Real Madrid travel to the island this weekend seeking a win that would take them back to the top of the table after Barcelona won.
Kubo is not prevented from playing by a parent club clause, and Molango believes he has all the attributes to star both this season and in the future.
“He sees things that other people don’t see, the ability to see a pass and pick a long ball. His intelligence is outstanding.
“He is very skilled technically but also very brave, he’s not scared of the ball and of taking on responsibility.
“He’s a natural leader and he’s comfortable with the pressure. He has the ingredients to one day be a superstar.”
