Levante condemned Real to their fourth defeat in the last five matches with a 2-1 victory at Santiago Bernabeu to leave Lopetegui on the ropes.
Reports in the Spanish capital this morning state that Lopetegui has been ‘virtually sacked’, and club president Florentino Perez has some serious decisions to make.
Lopetegui oversaw Real Madrid training this morning and will address the press this afternoon ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Viktoria Plzen, with a trip to Camp Nou awaiting on Sunday.
He insisted in the aftermath of that Levante defeat that the possibility of losing his job was the ‘last thing on my mind’, adding that his focus was purely on ‘recovering’ with Barcelona at the Camp Nou up next in La Liga.
