Real Madrid name price for Arsenal to make Dani Ceballos transfer permanent

Arsenal will need to stump up £22million if they wish to sign Dani Ceballos on a permanent basis, according to reports.

The midfielder is on his second season-long loan spell at the Emirates which ends in June, when a decision must be made on his future.

Ceballos, 24, was keen to re-join Arsenal on a temporary basis after last season in order to get regular first-team football ahead of this summer's European Championships.

Since then he has struggled to hold down a starting berth though, and could be set for a return to Real Madrid when his loan deal expires.

The Spaniard has made 24 appearances so far this season in all competitions, but 11 of those have been as a substitute.

Now Mikel Arteta must determine whether he sees Ceballos as part of his plans moving forward and if he wants the club to meet Madrid's asking price.

As reports La Razon , Real Betis are also interested in signing Ceballos, but remain hopeful of driving the price tag down.

Ceballos was involved in a training ground bust-up with teammate David Luiz back in November, but Arteta insisted at the time there was no long-lasting issue between the pair.

Regardless of the reports, Ceballos is still intent on achieving his dream of playing for the Los Blancos.

His current deal at the Bernabeu runs until 2023, and boss Zinedine Zidane has been open with Ceballos over his future.

"He told me I needed to play and minutes. He was clear with me,” Ceballos said in January.

“I signed a long contract with Madrid. I have two and a half years left. My goal is to succeed at Arsenal. My wish is to wear the Madrid shirt."

Ceballos has since been joined in North London by fellow Madrid loanee Martin Odegaard.
