Real Madrid midfielder Isco could be out for three weeks with hamstring injury

Real Madrid midfielder Isco could miss a large chunk of his team's run-in in LaLiga after the club announced he has a hamstring injury.

Isco was on the bench for Los Blancos' 3-1 win at Eibar on Saturday, but did not feature and is now ruled out until further notice.

"Following the tests carried out today on our player Isco Alarcon by Real Madrid's medical department, he has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury to his right thigh," the club said in a statement on their website on Thursday.

No estimation of possible time out was given as Real added: "His recovery will continue to be assessed."

However, the 28-year-old is expected to be sidelined for around 20 days, which means he could miss up to six matches, starting with tonight's game at home to Valencia.

Isco's injury could hand an opportunity to James Rodriguez, who has made only 13 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions this season.
