Real Madrid make January transfer decision over Gareth Bale

Real Madrid want to keep Gareth Bale in January despite the Welshman igniting fury among some fans.

The 30-year-old will return to the Spanish capital after his international exploits.

But while playing for Wales Bale embroiled himself in yet more controversy surrounding his love for golf and perceived lack of affection for Madrid.

The forward was pictured in front of a Welsh flag that read: "Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order" which has not endeared himself to the Bernabeu faithful.

But Madrid are not prepared to sell Bale in January after one club source told Marca : "He is the best player we have, and he will still give a lot to our club."

"We're not going to give him away or anything like that, he will be decisive again."

The Spanish giants believe the storm surrounding Bale's lifestyle is more driven by the media than reality.

Bale has struggled for injuries once again this season and was on the cusp of a lucrative move to China in the summer before it fell through at the eleventh hour.

Zinedine Zidane's return in March was set to spell the end for the former Tottenham man but, despite not speaking on a regular basis, the two have a stronger relationship than ever.

Madrid spent heavily in the summer in an attempt to usurp Barcelona domestically and find themselves level with the Catalans

Bale was, according to reports, being considered as part of a deal that could see Paul Pogba quit Manchester United for Madrid.

The Welshman has long been linked with a return to England and Old Trafford has been regularly tipped as his next home.

Although Jose Mourinho's arrival at Tottenham has sparked rumours of a sensational return with Harry Redknapp, who mentored Bale in north London, urging the Special One to go after the four-time Champions League winner.
