Real Madrid make eye-watering Neymar offer as they bid to trump Barcelona

Real Madrid are attempting to blow Barcelona out the water with their bid to land Neymar.

Bernabeu president Florentino Perez is desperate for the Paris Saint Germain forward to return to Spain as he looks to satisfy boss Zinedine Zidane’s transfer demands.

Barcelona are also hell-bent on bringing Neymar back to the Nou Camp but face serious competition from their Liga rivals.

And Real Madrid are reportedly offering the 27-year-old £36million-a-year wage to reject Barca and join Los Blancos.

That is more than he currently earns in Paris and the five-year contract would make him the second highest earner in world football – behind only Lionel Messi.

The Argentinian earns nearly double that amount before tax.

But Sport English report Neymar would prefer to return to Barca and be reunited with friends Luis Suarez and Messi at the Nou Camp.

Meanwhile, the Brazil superstar has been left out of PSG’s squad to play Nimes.

The Sun report talks are “more advanced than before”, although it is not reported who the discussions are with.

Neymar is returning to full fitness from the ankle injury that ruled him out of last month’s Copa America.
