Real Madrid fight back to beat Osasuna and stay clear of Barcelona in LaLiga title race

Real Madrid came from behind to beat Osasuna 4-1 at El Sadar on Saturday and stay clear of Barcelona at the top of LaLiga.

Unai Garcia headed the home side into the lead from a corner after 14 minutes and it was no more than they deserved after an electric start.

But Madrid settled later in the half and turned the game on its head in the space of five minutes.

First, Isco volleyed home at the far post after a Gareth Bale shot had been deflected into his path after 33 minutes.

Then, Casemiro flicked on a corner and Sergio Ramos was there to head home from close range at the far post to make it 2-1 five minutes later.

The second half was tight and Osasuna continued to look dangerous on the break, but spaces appeared towards the end and Karim Benzema laid off unselfishly for substitute Lucas Vazquez to make it 3-1 six minutes from time.

Goalkeeper Sergio Herrera got a touch and might have done better, but could do nothing to prevent a fierce drive from Luka Jovic in added time as the Serbian striker rounded off an ultimately emphatic victory.

With 23 games played, Madrid stay three points clear of Barca, who beat Real Betis 3-2 in a thriller later on Sunday.
