Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos: Neymar is one of the top three players in the world

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos hailed Neymar as one of the top three players on the planet after their disappointing 1-1 draw with Real Valladolid on Saturday.

Real dropped points after a late goal from Valladolid's Sergi Guardiola cancelled out Karim Benzema's second goal in as many games.

The result leaves Los Blancos second in the table behind Sevilla and led to intensified talk of a late move for PSG star Neymar.

Asked about the Brazilian forward, who is interesting Los Blancos ahead of the final week of the transfer window, Ramos said: "I have always said that, for me, Neymar is a top player. One of the three best in the world."

He then went on to say he was not keen to discuss players who are not at the club, but left the door open for a possible move.

"To talk about players who aren't here could be somewhat disrespectful to to this squad and to the new players who have arrived with excitement," he said.

"In future, we'll see."

Real Madrid are also interested in Tottenham star Christian Eriksen and could instead move for the Denmark international before the September 2 deadline in Spain.
