Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane reveals when Dani Ceballos to Arsenal could be completed

Zinedine Zidane has revealed that we'll know more about the future of Dani Ceballos 'in the coming days'.

The Real Madrid midfielder is widely tipped to leave the club this summer with first team opportunities likely to be limited under the Zidane regime.

Arsenal are credited with a strong interest in the 22-year-old, and are said to be closing in on a season-long loan deal for the Spanish international.

Ceballos was left out of the matchday squad for the International Champions Cup clash between Real Madrid and the Gunners, but speaking after the game, Zidane said that the deal wasn't done yet.

He said: "There's still nothing official yet. The club is working on it and we'll see in the next few days."

Dani Ceballos may have sat out Real Madrid's tour of the USA, but his exclusion might not be solely down to an imminent transfer to either the Lilywhites or the Gunners.

One possible reason for him not making the squad is being given extra time off after representing Spain at the European U21 Championships earlier in the summer

His stock rose in Italy as he scored two goals and provided the same number of assists as Spain gained a measure of revenge on Germany by lifting the trophy.

The final took place on June 30 and players competing in international tournaments this summer are being given three weeks off to recuperate before reporting for pre-season training.

With that said, it does appear that Ceballos will depart the Spanish side sooner rather than later.

The midfielder recently gave an interview to Spanish newspaper  Marca , outlining his plans for the future and hinted that it could be away from the Bernabeu.

"I imagine Zidane will have seen it, but he has very clear ideas and we all know his thoughts," he said. "Now it's time to rest well, to disconnect after the season and in the next few weeks we'll think about the future.

"The most important thing in life is to be happy and that can only happen by playing 40 games a year. My personal goal for next season is to play 40 games and to be comfortable at all times. Wherever it is doesn't matter, but it has to be a place where I can feel valued.

"At the moment I have no preferred choice. What I know is that I want to enjoy next year and that I'm open to new challenges. I'd like to try new things."
