Real Madrid 'approach Declan Rice's family' over shock summer transfer

It was been claimed that Real Madrid are 'knocking on Declan Rice's door' and are already sweet-talking the West Ham player's family.

Former Hammer Scott Minto suggests the Spanish giants are very much in the hunt for the England man.

Rice has been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City after a fantastic season.

Minto is well connected in Spain and fronted Sky Sports' La Liga coverage before they lost the rights last summer.

He believes Real are already making moves to try and secure the £60million rated Londoners' services.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told to axe two key Man Utd stars - and then raid Chelsea

Speaking to Stadium Astro after the Manchester United beat West Ham 2-1 on Saturday, Minto revealed all.

"I’m hearing that even Real Madrid are knocking on the door and speaking to his family," he said. "I’m not going to tell you who, but it’s a reliable source."

Rice only signed a new deal at the London Stadium back in December.

It keeps him at the club until 2024 but they accept every player has his price.

"Growing up as a kid, when you become a professional footballer, you want to play at the highest level," Rice said last month.

"It's normal to like people saying nice things about you but I'm really happy playing at West Ham under the manager. I've got a special connection with the fans as well. I'm loving every minute of it."

His manager Manuel Pellegrini hinted that the player is already attracting interest.

“In that case, as always, it is just a matter of price," he said.

“There are big teams who decide to pay an important amount of money. Sure, if it is a good deal for the club and the player and improves his career, then we can do it. But I know nothing about that yet.”

Pellegrini added: “He knows he must improve, that is why he is always listening and learning so, as a player, the way he plays more games and better games he will continue improving.”
