Real Madrid announce squad for Chelsea Champions League clash with four huge boosts

Real Madrid have announced their squad to take on Chelsea in the Champions League semi-finals second leg.

The two sides drew 1-1 in the first leg after goals from Christian Pulisic and Karim Benzema, and they go head-to-head again on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge.

Ahead of the game, Real Madrid have lost three key players in Raphael Varane, who is out for 10 days, and duo Lucas Vazquez and Dani Carvajal, who are both out for the rest of the season.

Though, there are significant boosts for Los Blancos, who have welcomed back Sergio Ramos and Ferland Mendy following respective injuries.

Ramos has been out since the end of March with a muscular injury, while Mendy has been out since mid-April after picking up a calf injury.

But both returned to individual training over the weekend and were said to have trained with teammates early this week to return to contention.

Los Blancos have also been boosted by the return of Marcelo, who was called to serve on an election board in Madrid today, and Fede Valverde, who has given two negative coronavirus tests after contracting the virus and missing five games

Real Madrid have now confirmed their full squad ahead of heading to London this afternoon. Here is the squad in full.

Goalkeepers - Thibaut Courtois, Andriy Lunin, Diego Altube.

Defenders - Eder Militao, Sergio Ramos, Nacho Fernandez, Marcelo, Alvaro Odriozola, Ferland Mendy, Miguel Gutierrez.

Midfielders - Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Casemiro, Fede Valverde, Isco, Sergio Arribas, Antonio Blanco.

Forwards - Eden Hazard, Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Vinicius Jr, Mariano, Rodrygo.

Real Madrid will have to score at Stamford Bridge to progress to the final with Chelsea scoring an away goal at Valdebebas in the first leg, and the return of former Blue Hazard might just help.

The Belgian has not exactly impressed since his move to the Spanish capital, but he is now back to full fitness and impressed in a start in Real Madrid's La Liga win over Osasuna on Saturday.
