Karim Benzema scored a second-half hat-trick as Real Madrid eased to a 3-0 Bernabeu victory over Athletic Bilbao on Easter Sunday.
There were pockets of empty seats at the Bernabeu given that Real's chances of silverware - barring a spectacular implosion from Barcelona - are over for this season.
However, the fans in attendance were treated to a masterclass in finishing from Benzema, who is one of the few Real players to emerge from the 2018-19 campaign with his reputation enhanced.
With the first half ending goalless, Benzema put Zinedine Zidane's side in front two minutes after the restart as he headed home from a Marco Asensio cross.
With the home crowd singing Benzema's praises, the French striker effectively wrapped the game up as a contest with another header 76 minutes in.
Brahim Diaz - who left Manchester City for Los Blancos in January - looked lively with a late cameo, while Benzema wrapped up his hat-trick in injury time with a curling effort into an empty net from distance.
The victory keeps Real on the heels of city rivals Atletico in the hunt for second place.
