Real Housewives star claims she saw ghost clinging to shopper's leg in supermarket queue

Real Housewives of Cheshire star Debbie Davies has admitted she sees spirits in supermarkets and once saw the ghost of a little boy standing in the queue for the check-out.

Debbie, 54, is a psychic medium and says spooks don't just keep to places most people would think would be haunted.

She's convinced supermarkets are actually a hotbed of paranormal activity - even more so than hospitals which are often thought to be haunted by the ghosts of those who have passed away.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Debbie explained she once saw the ghostly apparition of a little boy clinging on to a woman's leg as she picked up her groceries.

Debbie explained: "Spirits are definitely drawn to me because, for me, it is almost like walking around to anyone that is in spirit with a flashing beacon on my head like: 'You know what? She will see you! She will hear you!'

"They know because when I go in the supermarket that is one of the biggest places that I see spirits. The next one after that is hospitals but I am rarely in a hospital."

Debbie added of the supermarket sighting: "I have been stood there waiting to be served at the checkout and I have seen a woman standing there with a trolley and a little girl in her arms who was likely around six months old.

"But I could see a little boy with his arms wrapped around her right leg and he looked about three years old. He was definitely a ghost.

"He was looking right in my eyes and I was looking right into his and smiling at him. I really wanted to tap her on the shoulder and say, 'Can I just say you lost a little boy and he is stood with you."

Debbie went on to explain how Halloween is the most haunted time of the year because the "veil" between the world of the living and the dead gets thinner and allows for most ghostly sightings.

She says the extra activity begins around three weeks before the big day and continues for another three weeks afterwards.

Debbie warns many people won't see actual ghosts but they will hear strange knocks or taps around the house and many experience terrifying dreams.

Debbie lives in Cheshire with her husband Pete and she's mum to James, 30, Matthew, 26, and Tiffany, 24.

She runs her own business and has a team of around 400 psychic mediums who can be contacted via premium rate text and phone calls.

She joined the Real Housewives show this year to replace outgoing Dawn Ward.

Debbie previously admitted she saw her role in the show coming before it was offered to her, saying: "I always had a feeling that my future would involve the show but I could never have imagined how much I’d love every minute of the filming."
