'Real Housewives' star reaches plea deal for arrest, dodges jail time

NEW YORK _ "Real Housewives of New York" star Luann de Lesseps will not receive jail time after agreeing to a plea deal for her December arrest.

The reality star pleaded guilty to disorderly intoxication, trespassing and battery in the deal, TMZ reported. She was initially charged with felony resisting an officer with violence, which could have led to time behind bars, but that charge was reduced to battery as part of the plea agreement.

The 53-year-old de Lesseps was arrested on Christmas Eve last year in Palm Beach, Fla., after she entered the wrong hotel room. Video of the incident shows de Lesseps slurring her words and threatening a police officer.

"Don't touch me," de Lesseps tells a cop at one point in the clip. "I'm gonna kill you. I'll kill you"

The reality star's plea deal requires her to be on probation for a year and to finish 50 hours of community service, according to TMZ. She's also not permitted to use drugs or alcohol, must attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings twice a week and could face testing for substance use. She was required to write an apology letter to the cop involved in the arrest as well.

She described the arrest as "embarrassing" during an April interview with "Extra," telling the TV show she had since given up alcohol.

"At this point in my life, I don't want to drink, nor do I have interest in drinking," de Lesseps said at the time. "Rehab saved my life. It was the best thing that I could do for myself and I'm so glad I did that."
