Real Housewives star Ester Dee recreates iconic cheeky tennis girl photo

Ester Dee made a surprise comeback to The Real Housewives of Cheshire in this week's episode and she's delighted fans by recreating one of the world's most famous pin-up photos.

The mum-of-one has provided her own spin on the iconic Athena tennis girl shot from the seventies.

She copied Tennis Girl, the poster of a female tennis player without underwear, as she hitched up her pristine white mini dress.

The cheeky pose on a sunny tennis court remains one of the world’s best selling posters and Ester's take at The Tytherington Club in Macclesfield was applauded by her fans.

'Dee Tennis Girl by me' she captioned the photo shared on her Instagram.

"Iconic!" cried one fan.

"Athena poster pose brought bang up to date! Anyone for tennis?" commented another.

"Cheeky," said another fan.

"Go girl," praised another.

And another fan wrote: "An iconic picture brought up to date by Miss Ester Dee."

The image was first published as part of a calendar by Athena in 1977.

In 2011 Fiona Walker came forward as Tennis Girl who posed for her then boyfriend, a photographer called Martin Elliott.

She wore a borrowed sports dress and racket and wore her father’s white plimsolls and used tennis balls belonging to her dog for the shot.

The photo was taken at the Birmingham University courts in Edgbaston in 1976 and two million copies were sold worldwide.

Last summer Ester announced that she'd left The Real Housewives about a group of wealthy women living in Cheshire, which is now in its 13th series.

On Monday she returned to the show on a dramatic girls' trip to the Lake District.

Ester, who joined the reality series in series five, made the decision to leave after reassessing her priorities.

She also admitted that she hadn't been happy in the show for the last two series.

The mother-of-one told CheshireLive : "I've enjoyed my time on the show and it was a great platform for me to start my TV career but I've changed and so have my priorities."

She added: "I have no regrets about doing Housewives and I made some good friends but I'm not the same person as I was when I started and it's not right for me at the moment."

After leaving the ITVBe reality show she has undergone a transformation with new tattoos and a 'rock chick' look.
