Real Housewives of Cheshire stars spotted at Edinburgh's Portobello beach

Four members from the Real Housewives of Cheshire cast were pictured filming at Portobello beach in Edinburgh on Monday.

Stars from the show, which first aired in 2015, were seen walking on the sand as they gear up filming for a possible forthcoming ITV reality show.

Current cast members of the show, Lystra Adams, Lauren Simon, Deborah Davies, as well as another unknown member, were all part of the crew walking along the Edinburgh sea front.

As you can guess by the title, the show follows the lives of rich housewives in the plush area of Cheshire. After the success of the first season, with the premiere becoming ITVBe's second highest rated programme ever, after The Only Way Is Essex, they went on to film another 13 series.

Lauren Simon, who is pictured in this photo, is the only current surviving member from the first series.

Filming for season 14, the newest series of the show, commenced on 4 August 2021. It is unclear if yesterday's sighting in Edinburgh is for the new season, or a separate show.

Edinburgh has not been short of film stars in recent years. In 2017, part of the movie, Avengers: Infinity War, was filmed in the capital, with The Royal Mile, Sr Giles' Cathedral and Waverly Station all featuring in the blockbuster movie which went on to become only the fourth film to gross over $2 billion worldwide.

More recently, in 2019, the crew of the Fast and Furious saga were using Edinburgh to film dramatic high speed car chases. Hollywood star Vin Diesel later spoke of his admiration for the city whilst visiting.

It should be no surprise then, that the stars from the Real Housewives of Cheshire were pictured in the city, as Edinburgh is fast becoming a sweet spot for film crews wanting to capture the natural beauty of Scotland's capital.
