Real Housewives of Cheshire star is a dentist to the stars when off screen

A Real Housewives of Cheshire star has revealed how she went from being a dentist in Liverpool to owning her own practice and teeth whitening brand.

Hanna Kinsella started off studying dentistry in the University of Liverpool.

While studying in the city she met and got married to her doctor husband, Martin Kinsella, who was also studying dentistry.

The 32-year-old, originally from Bolton, then began working in long standing practice Kiln Lane in St Helens as a resident dentist.

When she heard the previous owner was retiring she jumped at the opportunity to take over.

She told the ECHO : "I’ve always wanted to own my own business and I loved the staff. Because I had worked there for years and I got to know everyone really well.

"The owner was of retirement age, it was a long negotiation but in 2018 I took over completely.

"We then obviously rebranded the practice and invested quite a lot in redoing it and cosmetically doing it up, I just wanted to give it a refresh."

She added: "It is funny because some of the older patients who have been there an old time, I was apprehensive about what they’d think.

"But they all love it , it just looks more inviting and a lot of thought has gone behind the design."

Kiln Lane Dental is a general practice and they spend most days doing routine dentistry but they primarily focus on cosmetic treatments.

It’s the cosmetic side of the dentist that has attracted the famous faces.

Hanna said: "I think the thing is nowadays everyone wants to have nice teeth and teeth have become a focal point , everyone wants a nicer, brighter smile.

"It's important that you create a friendly atmosphere where people feel comfortable but also provide a high quality service.

"That is what has attracted my clientele , we try not to be pretentious , so we are very warm and friendly. The staff are really warm and we try to make people feel comfortable.

"It’s reputation over time too and word of mouth gets round and people recommend us , that's where the majority of our clients come from."

A lot of the Housewives go to Hanna for their treatments. Danielle Lloyd is also a client, as well as former Hollyoaks actress Georgia Porter.

This year Hanna hosted a glamorous launch event for her new whitening toothpaste brand Icy Bear.

She said it was always a ‘dream’ of hers and after years of hard work she developed a product that she’s proud of.

Hanna said: "It made sense to me to develop my own as I was always recommending other products.

"It’s the first whitening toothpaste that includes diamond dust that we use in dentistry to polish , so we’ve used a safe and regulated amount that reduces staining and well known whiting agents in there as well.

"I've spent a lot of time perfecting it."

Hanna said that juggling her dentistry with starring on an ITV programme is hard but she can’t imagine life before the Real Housewives of Cheshire anymore.

She said: "It's hard and the thing with dentistry is it's a skilled profession and you've got to be fully alert and sometimes it's mentally draining.

"I’m doing that in the morning, getting out my scrubs then straight into a scene filming, it's one extreme to the other it’s a different world.

"But it's fab, now that my life has become like this I can't imagine what it was like before.

"It's just a case of juggling everything."
