Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward defends daughter's 'social media influencer' career in heated This Morning debate

This Morning viewers were less than impressed during the programme's Friday debate featuring Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward.

The TV personality was on the ITV show to help discuss whether Instagram's new tool to hide likes is a positive step after revealing daughter Taylor has decided to give up her elusive job in fashion in order to become a social media influencer.

The mother and daughter claimed that the social giant's new policy would negatively affect her business.

Taylor, 21, said: "For me, I work with a lot of clothing brands and they'll look on my profile and they'll look which of my posts get the most engagement.

"So I think by taking that away, people are not going to know what works so well on my feeds."

But Vanessa Feltz, a self-confessed 'technophone' who was also involved in the debate, hit back saying Instagram is not a 'professional' job.

Dawn snapped: "It's not your job.

"You're a broadcaster, I'm a reality star. I am showing my life."

But rather than just the debate at hand, fans were left raging as the guests continually talked over each other.

Even guest host Ben Shephard couldn't get a word in.

"I feel uncomfortable watching this.. talking over Vanessa constantly! awful," tweeted one viewer.

Another said: "Stop talking over each other fgs #ThisMorning."

A third commented: "Who's the woman who keeps talking over everyone? #ThisMorning."

Instagram's trial, which was rolled out in seven different countries, including Ireland, Australia and Italy, aims to remove 'pressure' from its users and encourage them to focus on 'sharing the things' they enjoy, without fear of judgement.

Instagrammers will be able to still view the number of likes their own posts receive but the public will only see "and others" below posts.
