Real estate firm makes five promotions in Scotland

Real estate agency Cushman & Wakefield has created three new associate partners and promoted two staff to senior surveyor in Scotland.

Mark Finlayson, Martin Speirs and James Woodhead have all been promoted to associate partner while Scott Aird and Emma Watson are now senior surveyors.

Portfolio expert Finlayson's accounts include CYBG and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, coordinating project management and building surveying advice from the Edinburgh office.

Speirs works in the Business Space Agency team in Glasgow where he has secured major lettings at 58 Waterloo Street on behalf of Castleforge and advised Bywater Properties on their refurbishment of McLellan Works in Sauchiehall Street. He also advised Cigna on the revamp of their HQ in Greenock.

Woodhead is part of the Energy, Infrastructure and Sustainability team and works with DTZ Investors ESG committee on their environmental, social and governance programme. He also supports Asset Services.

Aird, who works in the facilities management team, is one of the leads in the recent integration project of the Virgin Money property portfolio after it was taken over by CYBG.

Watson, who is based in the Edinburgh valuation team, was involved in the secured lending valuation of the £60 million portfolio of commercial assets in Dundee purchased by Northern Irish investment firm Lotus Group last year. Originally from Lurgan in Northern Ireland, she is a trained dancer and thespian and recently played the lead role in Edinburgh Music Theatre’s production of Sweet Charity.

Stuart Dorward, head of Scotland for Cushman & Wakefield, said: “These promotions are a testament to the hard work and effort demonstrated by all five of these inspiring individuals and also to those that supported them on this journey.

“They reflect the growing depth of talent in all areas of the business and the wide scope of services we are able to offer to clients.”
