A male stripper from EastEnders, a rugby hunk’s body double, a former X Factor contestant and a friend of Joe Swash... it could only be the lineup for new ITV2 dating show, Ready to Mingle.
The crop of male contestants will try to woo one lady looking for love (Sophia Dusauzay, 24) – but some of the guys are secretly in relationships.
Despite the show being packed full of liars, host Katherine Ryan says there’s more “honesty” and “transparency” than most reality shows.
That’s a low bar, Katherine.
Former EastEnders star Malcolm Modele, 33, played Luke the stripper, a pal of Kush’s, in the soap in 2016, so clearly has some acting abilities.
Rugby player John Okafor, 22, is also comfortable in front of the cameras as he once acted as Maro Itoje’s body double. Boxer Drew Wedlake is an X Factor alumnus, and property developer Louis Hart, 24, is a pal of Joe Swash’s.
Firefighter Lewis Crocker, 24, says his favourite chat up line is: “Would you like to come round and watch porn on my 72-inch flat-screen mirror?”
Hopefully, he’s a real singleton – or there’s someone out there that actually worked on.
Meanwhile, the show's host Katherine Ryan said of the set-up: “I am so excited to be a part of this new dating game show.
"How could I say no? It’s like nothing we've seen before but still with all the drama and dating dilemmas we love to see, and I’ll be there front row as it all unfolds!"
She added: "I think Ready To Mingle specifically is my favourite format because of its level of honesty. There are liars but there’s so much transparency about what the game is, what the challenge is and it’s just a whole fresh take where we put all the cards on the table. That’s what makes it so entertaining and compelling."
