Ready for real-life Super Mario? Nintendo attractions coming to theme parks in Hollywood and Orlando

Your dream of traveling through a real-life warp pipe is one step closer to being realized. Nintendo-themed attractions are headed to Universal theme parks in the U.S.

In a video released by Nintendo, the company's creative fellow Shigeru Miyamoto and Universal Creative President Mark Woodbury shared their excitement and some details about their collaboration. They also announced that "Nintendo world" is headed to Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort, in addition to Universal Studios Japan (which is located in Osaka).

Woodbury said the themed areas will be immersive and interactive, and Miyamoto explained that the goal is to create attractions enjoyable for fans of all ages. One such attraction is essentially the video game world of Mario brought to life, so for fans (and Mario) it should feel like "coming home."

As part of a global partnership between Universal and Nintendo, the new themed areas will also feature shops and restaurants (think the Wizarding World). Though details are sparse, Nintendo has revealed that the planning and creative work are well underway, and the areas will open separately over the next several years.

Each Universal theme park will release more information detailing its Nintendo-themed areas, with the first announcement coming soon.
