Dublin Live readers have slammed the "disgraceful" and "laughable" proposal to build a co-living facility in Dun Laoghaire.
Barta Capital Property hopes to build the facility on the site of the old schoolhouse on Eblana Avenue in the port town, where each en-suite bedroom would contain a pull-up bed and a kitchenette.
We reported yesterday that local Councillor Ciaran Cuffe was appalled by the “Dickensian” plan and stunned readers quickly made their opinions know, with many likening the project to a prison.
Neil Stewart said: "So let me get this straight, basically what they’re doing is giving Mountjoy a lick of paint and charging people to stay there."

Stuart Power called the plan a "recipe for disaster" while Darren Glennon likened the proposal to "modern tenements".
Plans for a shared kitchen where also slammed, with one woman joking: "Ah here, bags not doing the washing up."
Darren Glennon: "Basically modern tenements."

Bartra's proposal has been submitted to An Bord Pleanala as a Strategic Housing Development, meaning it bypasses the local authority, with a decision from the planning authority expected to be made before August.

Bartra also have plans to build similar developments in Tallaght and Blanchardstown, having branded the concept as "Niche Living" on promotional videos on their website.
And Dublin Live understands that if the plans go ahead, residents in the "co-living" development would not be allowed to brings guests into their room.
