Music paints the best pictures, I always think. But that's not to question the power of a photograph. It can capture a moment, bring a Proustian rush of memories. Most people have images they cherish. A photograph can be a treasured keepsake.
That's not to say the camera never lies, of course. Photographs by definition offer a partial view, and can raise more questions than they answer.
