Hark! The herald angels sing. Actually, this week we're after songs about angels, rather than by angels.
Angels, or messengers from God, feature many religions, often depicted with wings. Others may pray for a guardian angel to protect them or their loved ones.
So which are your favourite songs about angels? They don't have to feature the voice of an angel – though that might help. Post your suggestions below and we'll gather some of the best ones in a playlist published at guardian.co.uk/readersrecommend next Thursday.
