Dinah Parums, age 6.’ Photograph: DinahParums/GuardianWitnessBeach: ‘This is the early 50s and it was taken on a day trip to Whitley Bay. I’m wearing one of those cossies (red and white) which had elasticated squares so, when it came off, your body was covered in the same pattern! It was always windy (if not foggy) and your egg and tomato sandwiches ended up full of sand.’ Photograph: tynegal/GuardianWitnessAnnual birthday splash: ‘ I was born in August and despite the vast array of summer-themed birthday outings my younger self could have demanded, it was always the same thing; a trip to Murlough Bay, a quiet seaside spot, located a humble one-hour down the motorway from Belfast.’ [Full story here] Photograph: Latifa Akay/GuardianWitness
