Eewick: "Canvey Island's cinema. Cinema tickets starting at just £1.50 for a child, £2.50 for an adult! And it's by the sea. And theres a chip shop next door. And it's an hour and a half from London by train. Bingo! (Come to think of it, there's a bingo hall down the road too.)"Photograph: GuardianWitnessHoratio2010: "Wotton Electric Picture House –regenerated and run by the community. The bizarre cinema in Castlederg, Co. Tyrone which closed in the 1960s. It remains standing but the dismantling of the Gothic style entrance has left it looking more like a farm barn than a cinema." Today Guimbi Theater stands as a ruin of no archeological value. It must be saved so that it will step out of its urban legend and rise from its ashes. Bobo-Dioulasso’s Guimbi Theater symbolises the threat weighing over cinema in Africa today. Saving it will help safeguard its local and universal heritage."Photograph: GuardianWitnessDavid Ryan: "Triskel Christchurch Cinema. A very inspiring, exciting and unique place for film lovers."Photograph: GuardianWitnessNIViking: "The Strand Cinema, East Belfast. A beautiful art deco cinema in East Belfast with Belfast's iconic Harland & Wolff cranes in the background."Photograph: GuardianWitnessgordonbruce: "Film Nights in Iona Village Hall. Our nearest 'proper' cinema is two and a half hours away and seeing a film there involves a couple of ferries and an overnight stay. Instead we watch movies in Iona Village Hall over the winter months. Tables are provided so that patrons (who pay a small donation to hall funds) can enjoy whatever they've brought to drink. Most bring a cushion too, as the chairs aren't very comfortable. The best thing is that everyone knows everyone else!"Photograph: GuardianWitness
