A parent has penned a heart-wrenching letter describing just how much Gorgie City Farm means to her daughter.
The emotional plea was shared on the Edinburgh Community Farm social media account, which was set up by the former employees of the Gorgie farm.
It was written by the mother of a teenage girl with autism, whose time spent volunteering at the farm has been nothing short of life-changing for her.
Shocking news that the farm would be closing was revealed last week. Most staff were made redundant and liquidators were called in.
The former workers say they were "very emotional" after reading the letter, which highlights the impact the farm's closure will have on lives.
You can read the letter in full below.
It was reported this week that credible charities are interested in taking over the farm, and the animals are not being slaughtered, according to council leader Adam McVey.
