May 03--A quake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.9 shook many people awake in Los Angeles in the predawn hours Sunday.
And with the shaking came the longstanding ritual:
* Worry (or panic) for a moment, depending on how much you felt it.
* Wonder if it was a big temblor far away or a moderate earthquake nearby.
* Then the modern twist: Take to social media to express yourself.
This morning, after determining it was minor, L.A. did a collective shrug and went back to bed. Here's a look at some of the #LAquake reaction on Twitter:
It really felt like a major one. Some people are kinda scared. But thankfully it was only 3.9 #LAQuake

Seriously, quakes are freaky. I'll take Texas's tornadoes and thunderstorms over earthquakes. #LAQuake #earthquake

Me: It was a small #laquake, there's only a tiny chance a bigger one's coming. Roommate, ominously: But a bigger one is coming...

@Jen_Duran I think don't matter the magnitude, you can't avoid that helpless feeling when everything is moving, but to keep calm.
