Gerry Marsden to be honoured by re-naming Pier Head ferry terminal
The Mersey Ferry terminal at Liverpool's Pier Head is to be re-named after Merseybeat legend Gerry Marsden.
The move would pay tribute to the special connection between the Mersey Ferries and Gerry, whose world famous song Ferry Cross the Mersey is still played on the ferry every day.
The new name - the Liverpool Gerry Marsden Ferry Terminal – would commemorate the historic link between the music icon and the Mersey Ferries, and has been developed in discussion with Gerry's family.
