RCA Secret: Anonymous postcard exhibition is back for 2018, featuring Grayson Perry and Ridley Scott

Put your art knowledge to the test this weekend at an exhibition that is selling artwork with a secretive twist.

Held in the Royal College of Art’s Darwin Building, RCA Secret will feature pieces from students and internationally acclaimed artists, illustrators and designers but guests will only know who is behind each creation if they purchase a postcard-sized artwork for themselves.

More than 1,800 works will be on display this year with Grayson Perry, Ridley Scott, Maggi Hambling and Paul Smith among the names of contributors. Their pieces will stand side by side with work from up-and-coming RCA students and graduates. Identities will remain anonymous until artwork is purchased.

Images of the exhibits will be released online on Thursday November 29 at 9am — 24 hours before the venue opens to the public. All works cost £60 and will be sold on a first come, first served basis from Saturday December 1 to Monday December 3.

Those looking to get their hands on an artwork must register on the RCA Secret website in order to get a buyer’s ID and purchases will be capped at four per person. Anonymous pieces can be collected on Thursday December 6 or posted once the exhibition has closed.

All proceeds will go to the RCA fund, which supports the next generation of students.
