WELLINGTON (Reuters) - New Zealand's Central Bank Governor said on Thursday monetary conditions were still very stimulatory and it would likely be that way for a prolonged period.
"We are keeping monetary conditions very stimulatory and we will for a prolonged period," Adrian Orr told lawmakers in parliament.
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) surprised investors by holding interest rates at an all-time low of 1% on Wednesday saying it saw no urgency to ease policy further, sending the kiwi dollar sharply higher.
