RB Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund has encouraged a big club to land Takumi Minamino, saying: "I'd have no hesitation to sign him."
The Japanese forward, 24, has attracted strong interest from Liverpool, who are ready to swoop for him when the transfer window opens in January.
Minamino would cost the Anfield club just £7.25million due to a release clause in his contract, meaning RB Salzburg won't get the price they are perhaps owed for one of their prized assests.
But that hasn't disheartened the Austrian outfit, with sporting director Freund encouraging the forward to test himself at a bigger club and move on in January.
"He is an outstanding player with an outstanding personality," Freund told the Independent.
"The big clubs have been watching him and if I was them, I'd have no hesitation to sign him. Takumi is ready to make the next step in January."
Minamino caught the eye in the Champions League, in Liverpool's 4-3 win over RB Salzburg in their group game this season.
The Japanese forward was on the scoresheet that night and senior Liverpool players alerted Reds coaching staff to his ability following the fixture, suggesting he should be signed.
Liverpool are also looking to expand the club's brand globally, and are keen on breaking into the Far East market.
Minamino would help in this department given his popularity in his home country.
