RB Leipzig vs PSG Champions League semi-final preview: Prediction, team news, TV, time, live stream, h2h, odds

RB Leipzig and Paris Saint-Germain will square off for a place in the 2019/20 Champions League Final tonight.

Both sides will be on a high and full of confidence after their respective late heroics in the one-legged quarter-final ties in Lisbon.

French quadruple winners PSG trailed much-loved underdogs Atalanta by a goal to nil heading into the final minutes of the first last-eight match at Benfica's Estadio da Luz after several glaring misses from Neymar, but defender Marquinhos and former Stoke striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting both scored stoppage-time goals to secure the club's first semi-final appearance for 25 years.

Meanwhile, Leizpig - competing in the knockout stages of Europe's premier club competition for the first time this season - defied the loss of top scorer Timo Werner to Chelsea to topple Atletico Madrid at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, with American substitute Tyler Adams' late deflected strike proving decisive after Dani Olmo's glancing header had been cancelled out by a Joao Felix penalty.

Date, time and venue

RB Leipzig vs Paris Saint-Germain is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

The match will be played behind closed doors at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon with no fans due to be present due to government guidelines regarding coronavirus.

How to watch

TV channel: The match will be televised live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate, with coverage starting from 7pm.

Live stream: BT Sport subscribers will be able to stream the match online via the video player and the BT Sport app.

Prediction: RB Leipzig 0-2 Paris Saint-Germain

Leipzig played some entertaining football and deserved their win against Atletico with Yussuf Poulsen stepping up to replace the departed Werner, but they lacked cutting edge for the most part and got a huge slice of good fortune with Adams' shot that took a wicked deflection to deceive Jan Oblak.

Dayot Upamecano was superb in the centre of defence as he showed his qualities in possession while keeping Diego Costa firmly under wraps, but the likes of Neymar and Mbappe will pose a much bigger test that you feel the Frenchman will have to rise to again if Leipzig are to continue to defy the odds and reach the final on August 23.

PSG were far from at their best against Atalanta, with Neymar in particular flattering to deceive for long stretches, but they possess the firepower necessary to negotiate their way out of tricky positions.

Highly-rated Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann will no doubt be relishing the chance to tactically outwit former mentor Tuchel, but this may prove a step too far for his side as PSG look to make the final after so many high-profile failures on Europe's biggest stage.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Tuesday's semi-final will be the first-ever competitive meeting between these two teams.

However, Leipzig did beat PSG 4-2 in a friendly back in July 2014.
