Manchester City's away trip to RB Leipzig in the Champions League will be played behind closed doors, the Premier League club have confirmed.
City are due to fly to Leipzig on December 6, with both teams' final Champions League group game taking place the following day.
Covid cases are surging in Germany, with Friday's 57,302 infections a new record to cement fears of an aggressive fourth wave.
Michael Kretschmer, the state premier of Saxony, where Leipzig are based, is expected to implement a partial lockdown in a bid to curb the spread of cases.
As such, fans will not be permitted at the Red Bull Arena.
Am official City statement read: "Following a rise in COVID-19 rates in Germany, regional authorities will be placing the state of Saxony into partial lockdown.
"This means that RB Leipzig’s UEFA Champions League match against Manchester City on Tuesday 7th December at the Red Bull Arena will now be played behind closed doors, without supporters in attendance.
"Manchester City supporters who had purchased a ticket for this match will receive a full ticket refund. The Club will contact impacted supporters in the coming days to confirm that the refund has been processed."
