RB Leipzig take aim at Chelsea amid Timo Werner transfer rumours

RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner is never far away from a transfer rumour.

The 23-year-old has been linked with several Premier League clubs during the last few transfer windows, including Liverpool , Chelsea and Manchester United.

Frank Lampard's Blues have had their transfer ban lifted and naturally, fans are hopeful of some new and big name signings after Eden Hazard left in the summer.

And Werner is a name who many supporters would like to see at Stamford Bridge - so much so one fan took the matter into his own hands.

Responding to the German's tweet on Sunday evening, Kyal Mason provided his own and false translation.

Werner's initial post read as: "Missed you, Bundesliga".

However, Mason posted a picture with the translation as: "I'm joining Chelsea what's the Bundesliga".

But the Chelsea fan was stumped when Leipzig provided the perfect response.

The German club tweeted their own picture of translation as: "I've seen Chelsea play vs Newcastle, so I'll stay in the Bundesliga".

This was posted alongside a caption of: "Nice try, not gonna lie. We fixed this though for you."

Lampard's side were beaten 1-0 by the Magpies on Saturday as the Blues continued their inconsistency in the Premier League.

Recent reports from Germany have suggested that Wernrer would prefer a transfer to Liverpool instead of Chelsea at the end of the season as the January rumours continue to circle.
