Despite his tender age, Emile Smith Rowe has already become a fan's favourite at Arsenal - and it appears their excitement was just too much for his new club RB Leizpig to handle.

The German outfit sealed a loan deal for the Gunners starlet until the end of the season on transfer deadline day .

Smith Rowe has been tipped for a bright future at the Emirates Stadium after making six appearances this season under Unai Emery, scoring three goals.

The 18-year-old was due to make his debut when Leipzig took on Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga on Friday evening but was ruled out with a calf injury.

However, that didn't stop Arsenal's loyal fanbase from demanding that the Die Roten field the promising youngster with numerous tweets on social media.

That led Leipzig to poke fun at the "level of noise" the Arsenal fans were making by posting a meme from their English language account.

It read: "Noise levels of everyday sounds", with the caption "Arsenal fans telling us to play Smith Rowe even though it's not matchday" under the 10000000 decibel mark.

It seems they will be made to wait a while longer too, with manager Ralph Rangnick confirming the youngster will be out for "two to three weeks".

“He will not be training with us in the next two to three weeks,” he said.

“We have to look first now, that we can get him well again, he can get back in and we’ll introduce him quickly to our style of play."
